Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Originals website and the orders you place through it. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Originals is operated by Lyra Aus, an Australian business. In these Terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Lyra Aus trading as Originals.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and capable of forming a legally binding contract to place an order. You confirm that you're using your own payment method, with the cardholder's authorisation if it isn't you.
2. Accounts
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts engaged in fraudulent activity, repeated chargebacks, or abuse of our staff.
3. Products & pricing
- Authenticity. Every product we sell is sourced from Australian brands or authorised retailers in Australia. The product you receive is the same one available on shelves in Australia, in its original packaging.
- Stock.Listings reflect what we believe is available. Occasionally an item is out of stock by the time we go to source it from our supplier — if that happens we'll email you within one business day with the option to wait, substitute, or cancel that line for a refund.
- Pricing. All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD). The site can display prices converted to Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) for convenience, using a daily-updated exchange rate, but the actual charge to your card is in AUD. We may update prices at any time; the price you pay is the one shown at the moment you complete checkout.
- Errors.If a product is listed at an obviously wrong price (e.g. a decimal-place typo) we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund you in full — we'll always contact you first.
4. Orders
Placing an order is an offer to buy. We accept your offer when we send the order confirmation email and your card is successfully charged. Until then, no contract exists. We may decline an order if we suspect fraud, if shipping is impractical, or if stock has run out at our supplier.
5. Payment
Payment is processed by Stripe at the time you place the order. We accept all major credit and debit cards Stripe supports. We don't see or store your full card number; Stripe does. If your bank charges a foreign-currency conversion fee, that's between you and your bank — it's not something we can refund.
6. Shipping & delivery
- We ship from Australia via Australia Post. You'll get a tracking number when your order is dispatched.
- Standard delivery to Sri Lanka is 10–14 business days door-to-door. Maldives times vary by atoll. These are estimates, not guarantees — Australia Post and customs delays are outside our control.
- Risk of loss passes to you once we hand the parcel to Australia Post. We help you trace lost or stuck parcels — see Section 9 — but cannot guarantee recovery.
- You're responsible for providing a complete, accurate shipping address. Parcels returned to sender because of address errors can be re-shipped at your cost.
7. Customs duties & taxes
Sri Lanka and Maldives Customs charge import duty, VAT, and other levies on most cosmetics and personal-care goods. These charges are payable directly by you, the customer, to the relevant customs authority when your parcel arrives. They are not included in your order total or shipping cost.
For Sri Lanka destinations, we show an estimate of the likely duty at checkout, calculated from the current Sri Lanka Customs tariff and the HS code of each item. The estimate is provided in good faith but is not binding — Sri Lanka Customs determines the final amount at clearance, which may differ if rates change or the assessment varies. We are not liable for differences between the estimate and the final amount charged. If you encounter a discrepancy, contact us at hello@getoriginals.lk before paying and we'll work it out with you and the customs agent.
Sri Lanka Customs duties are collected only at airports, government post offices, and courier service customs points. Anyone asking you to transfer money to a private bank account is a scam. Originals will never ask you to pay duty directly to us.
8. Returns, refunds & faults
For hygiene and customs reasons we don't accept general returns of opened beauty or personal-care products. We will refund or replace any order if:
- The product arrives damaged, broken, or leaking.
- You receive the wrong item.
- The product is past its expiry date on arrival.
Email us at hello@getoriginals.lk within 7 days of deliverywith photos and your order number. If you're entitled to a refund, we'll process it through the original payment method within a reasonable time.
This does not limit any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or applicable Sri Lankan or Maldivian consumer legislation.
9. Lost or delayed parcels
If tracking shows your parcel hasn't moved for more than 14 days or is marked lost, email us with your order number and we'll lodge an inquiry with Australia Post on your behalf. Where Australia Post confirms a parcel as lost, we'll re-ship or refund at our discretion.
10. Cancellations
You can cancel an order at no cost any time before it's dispatched — email us as soon as possible. Once your order has left Australia we can't recall it. If the parcel is intercepted by customs and returned to us unopened, we'll refund the order minus shipping costs.
11. Use of the website
You agree not to:
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically copy the catalogue, listings, or imagery.
- Use the site to send spam, phish, or distribute malware.
- Place orders with the intention of charging back the payment (this is fraud and we will pursue it).
- Resell our products as "genuine Australian" yourself without our written consent — buying through us doesn't make you an authorised reseller.
12. Intellectual property
The Originals name, logo, design, copy, and original photography are our property. Brand names, product names, and product imagery belong to their respective owners and are used here for the purpose of selling those products. Don't reproduce any of it without permission.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the site or any order is limited to the amount you paid us for the order in question. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — for example, lost profits, lost opportunity, or emotional distress — even if we've been advised of the possibility.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that can't lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer-protection legislation.
14. Privacy
Your personal information is handled in line with our Privacy Policy. By using the site you consent to that policy.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes that can't be resolved by good-faith discussion will be heard by the courts of New South Wales, subject to your rights under any applicable mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence.
